It will be USC. Right before they announced their women’s team, they were also talking about moving the men. As a private school, they’ll have an easier time than many of the usual suspects. As a major Nike school, it makes sense financially.
My second guess would be Oregon since they are Nike’s absolute showcase school. If the Ducks do go D1, they will most likely ONLY use Nike branded gear (as opposed to joint branding with STX).
The Gators and Bulls are my top picks for a Florida school. UF seems to be about ready to go with the success of the women’s team so far and USF wants something to make it stand out amongst the other state schools, especially Gainesville and Tallahassee.
One of the big three Texas schools (or even new Big East member TCU) would be just as big…

Waldeck was a real force but they also lost Charlie Paar to graduation? Not saying one of the TWO guys they have on their roster right now won’t be good, but those are relatively big shoes to fill. Paar was awesome and this team will again need good goaltending to take down teams like Duke, Virginia, Syracuse. So yes, they lost a game changing LSM in Waldeck (special teams are important!) and a great stopper who really seemed to lead the defense. I’d say that’s a lot.
