2013 Mardi Gras Lacrosse Tournament Highlights

This past weekend, men’s and women’s club lacrosse teams descended on New Orleans for the 2013 Mardi Gras Lacrosse Tournament. The event has been going on for well over 20 years (with only one interruption due to a hurricane), and offers one of the most fun club lacrosse tournament experiences in the entire world.

NOLA, lacrosse, good people, and NOLA? You can count me in for that every single year.

There is a lot of NOLC video as we had two teams in the tourney, including a master’s team that went 3-1, and a young guys team.lacrosse_hot_dog

In the end, it came down to the Salt Shakerz (2012 champs) and Tony’s Tavern (2011 champs), and the two teams delivered one heck of a final on Sunday.  SSZ went up big, Tony’s fought back hard, and the Shakerz escaped with an 8-7 win after their keeper made a great save as time ran out. The Finals footage begins at the 2:05 mark and goes til the end.
