When James Pannell wasn’t coaching kids, or playing a vicious game of P-I-G against his brother, Rob, he was getting peppered by questions from yours truly. This time around I asked James about his custom UVA dye, his pocket, and how he and his classmates adjusted to the new college rules, including the 2010 heads, and 2013 stringing rules.

We’re back with a little more on Jeremy Thompson, as he’s been rocking a new traditional stick, and it’s got a Replaceable Top String!
College coaches hit the recruiting trail hard over the Summer, especially in June and July. They line the side of fields in their fold out chairs across the country, and scout talent, and look for future players. When the action gets close, they get a great view, but also run the risk of getting trucked.
Joe Vitale was a two-time first team All-American in his last two years at Adelphi, and played in two games for the Charlotte Hounds last year. Right now, Vitale is on the New York Lizards’ practice squad, and he can straight up BRING THE HEAT when shooting. He hit 111 at camp this week.
Both Rob and James Pannell have been working Max Seibald’s Maximum Lacrosse Camps in NYC this week, and while the two definitely get along very nicely, the spirit of healthy competition is alive and well in this family!
I was a big fan of Jay Jalbert in his playing days at UVA, and I’ve liked the short videos he has produced in the next leg of his career. His new LXM video for Maverik Films is as legit as any before, and special for a couple of reasons…
Schommy is one of the most knowledgeable, passionate, and competitive people I’ve ever met. He’s also a great friend, proud Australian, and one heck of a face off instructor. CW has known Schommy since 2001, and it’s about time you get to know him too.
Yesterday we brought you Part One of Chasing The Dream, by Malcolm Chase. Today we bring you Part Two of Malcolm’s epic journey, as he strives to make a game roster for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse.
This week’s Traditional Thursday post is pretty epic. We have a video interview with Jeremy Thomspson after a recent Nationals game, photos of Jeremy’s stick in action (it’s a traditional variation that is NEW to us!), AND some expert tips from Mr. Thompson himself!
Tales of an MLL Rookie’s Quest to get on the Field by Malcolm Chase
Connor Wilson quickly caught up with Rob Pannell, and had to ask him what it was like to see so many kids rocking his #3 Lizards jersey or T-shirt… Rob’s answer is pretty cool!
The Scotland Clydesiders have put together an artistic and inspiring video promoting their team and the sport. It’s a basic promo video, with a cool twist, and it’s well worth a couple minutes of your time.
It’s always fun to compare states and regions within lacrosse using polls. It might not be scientific in any way, but it certainly showcases perceived differences in talent, and makes for an interesting conversation. We’ll take a look at the two biggest Top 25 Polls, and see if we can draw any conclusions!
Shendelle Oliver put together the following report on Western Australia’s national championships win. Much appreciated for the update from Down Under via a traveling girl in Europe! West Australia beats Victoria with a young state lacrosse team.
Last week, I asked if it was time for the Boston Cannons to panic, but after this past weekend, it looks like the crew from Beantown is hitting their stride again. So what changed, and how can Boston keep their winning ways going? Can they get better?
I don’t know if you guys are listening to this new Daft Punk album or not, but it’s amazing. Sure, it’s nothing like One More Time or their popular earlier music, but I have to say I like their advanced quasi-minimalist sound more now than ever.
Tommy Palasek is currently leading the New York Lizards, of Major League Lacrosse, in scoring with 13 goals, and 4 assists, for 17 points. The most amazing thing about all of this is that through the first seven games of the season, Palasek hasn’t even been using his own stick!
This Summer, LAS will be following around the NJ Riot 2016 club team, and by following them, we will try to gain some insight into the elite travel team scene. We will interview some players, and talk to parents, but let’s start from the beginning with an interview with the NJ Riot founder, Lee Southren…
Thanks to Max Seibald, Brian Karalunas, and Drew Adams for having a little fun with me, even though it was still raining pretty hard. Just a little post game fun in NYC!
The New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse defeat the Hamilton Nationals 12-10 on Randall’s Island in New York City.
