It’s a shovel shot, but for some reason it seems like more than that. Maybe it’s all the pressure Pannell was under right before shooting it. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s a playoff game. Maybe it’s the fact that Eamon gives it the SportsCenter Top 10 call… we’re not sure. We are sure, however, that this was a monster effort by RP3.
Onondaga Community College and Nassau Community College absolutely went at it yesterday out on Long Island for the NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse national championship. OCC ended up with the 15-11 win, and their fifth straight title, and we were roundly impressed with the talent on both teams.
Onondaga Community College has claimed their 5th straight national title in the NJCAA ranks with a 15-11 win over Nassau Community College. The game was played on Long Island, at Mitchell Field, near Nassau’s campus and Hofstra.
Saturday saw four D1 lacrosse teams go up early, and then fall, before the game was through. Penn State and Detroit both went up 5-1, on Yale and Notre Dame respectively, before giving way to huge comeback runs, and getting knocked out. Lehigh went up 2-0 on UNC, and looked great early on, before the Heels exploded in the 2nd quarter. Even Albany took a 1-0 lead, and then a 3-1 lead (and a 4-3 lead), before Denver’s offense really started clicking.
We’ve been hearing whispers for a while now, and then we heard some not so quiet noise, and now we’ve confirmed it: Reebok is dropping team sports from their focus, and this means lacrosse at RBK is going the way of the dodo. In other words, Reebok is done with lacrosse.
If you’re like me, you read a blasé press release last night about Maverik Lacrosse joining up with the LXM Pro. Here’s the gist: Maverik has signed on to sponsor one of the teams, called Maverik United, which will be replacing Team Solé for 2013-14, and facing off against Team STX, at each LXM PRO event.

The Iroquois Lacrosse program has appealed the FIL’s decision to drop the Iroquois Nationals from the top (Blue) division at the 2014 World Games in Denver for a second time. The original appeal was voted down by the Board of Directors, and they cited “following by-laws” as their rationale.
Do you have a traditional pocket that you love, but you worry that you will someday break the plastic head that it is in? And do you not use the traditional because of the 100% rational fear? If so, or if you have a broken stick with a great leather and lace pocket in it, have no fear! CW is here to show you how to move your traditional pocket from one head to another…
Last week’s Hot Pot was all about Travel, and how it will do you good. I had just returned from Prague, and couldn’t get it out of my head. However, the week before that, I had posted a Hot Pot talking about Rethinking The Game, and Brian Silcott, living lacrosse legend, responded with a comment that blew my mind.
I created a new stringing tutorial on our YouTube page, and this time around I’m getting a little crazy, and teaching you how to string mesh! I know, anything but traditional from me is weird… but I played with mesh for years in college, and still know how to string a great pocket.
In the 70s and early 80s, Morgan State’s lacrosse team was an NCAA Division 1 force, but the school dropped the varsity program. However, over the last couple of years, Morgan State Lacrosse has seen a resurgence, with their club program improving, and the team seeing success in the NCLL.
All three Thompsons have scored some pretty incredible goals this year, but none of them have been quite so casual AND highlight reel worthy, as this recent effort from Lyle Thompson.
ROAR Sports Drinks are based out of Long Island, and the company focuses on a newer, more extreme sport community, of which lacrosse is a part. Kids all over Long Island, New York, and the Northeast have been giving ROAR a shot, so we figured we should too! Plus they sent us 12 bottles of product to try out… how could we not?
We get great questions from our readers on traditional stringing, but we also get some really awesome, and sometimes weird, questions that stump even the finest minds at LAS. When it comes to situations like that, we reach out to the experts.

Each week I’ve been asking if the D1 Lacrosse Polls Are Serious, and each week it seems like the answer is yes. Really, it’s immaterial, as all that matters is making the big dance, and then going on a run to glory.
Game Photos! The Ohio State – Loyola game was a true thriller, as Loyola went up with a slight lead in the third, and the OSU stormed back to win the game 18-11, scoring seven unanswered goals to switch the momentum completely.
The Evolution head, no matter what number of surname has followed it, has remained popular amongst lacrosse players everywhere. We’ve seen countless iterations on the Evo, and now we get to check out the Evolution 4, which features some of the same, and a whole lot of new.
