The 2014 Major League Lacrosse season celebrates 14 years of professional outdoor lacrosse and 13 memorable All-Star Game experiences.
Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced the Team MLL roster for the 2014 MLL All-Star Game today. The 24 players selected will compete against Team USA in the MLL All-Star Game on Thursday, June 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Historic Harvard Stadium in Boston, MA.
The first double overtime in Major League Lacrosse history took place Thursday night in a matchup between the charged Rochester Rattlers and the buckled down Chesapeake Bayhawks. As if the back-and-forth momentum wasn’t exciting enough, Rattlers attackman Kevin Leveille earned yet another hat trick, scoring six goals in the last two games.
The Ohio Machine announced the upcoming debut of the first overall selection from the 2014 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft, midfielder Tom Schreiber. Schreiber will take the field for the first time with the Machine on Saturday, May 10, against the Florida Launch in Boca Raton, Fla. The game will be televised live on SportsTime Ohio at 7 p.m. EST.
Despite wet conditions the Florida Launch powered their way to an 11-8 victory over the Charlotte Hounds. The Launch seized their first win in the short history of the team and are now 1-1 on the season.
This month, MLL recognizes Machine midfielder Dominique Alexander for his outstanding community work in the city of Columbus. Alexander arrived in Ohio’s capital city back in 2009 as a freshman at The Ohio State University. As a Buckeye, Alexander amassed 95 points, was named an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete all four years and co-captained the team alongside now-teammate Logan Schuss. However, it was also at Ohio State where Alexander truly started donating his time to others.
