The United States Coast Guard Academy, located in New London, CT, will be transitioning from MCLA D2 to NCAA D3 in 2015. The USCGA lacrosse program has a long history of success, but this current group is taking things to the next level, both on the field and off of it. The USCGA is the smallest US service academy, and we’re thrilled to have them playing D3 lacrosse next year!

We will open things up with a buddy pass that turned into a vicious hit. But was it LEGAL? We’re interested to hear what you guys think. Then we move on to college lacrosse game highlights, and we have a ton of them! All the best footage, from all the big games, all in one place. Just what you need for a Tuesday in May!
I brought Joe Williams of Throne of String to Prague for the 2014 Ales Hrebesky Memorial for two reasons: 1) he’s an awesome guy, good friend, and greasy box lacrosse player. 2) He makes videos the likes of which I want to someday make, and I knew he’d deliver with an insane Praha Experience video.
In the spirit of “Is this D1 lacrosse poll serious?”, I’ll be taking a look at the NCAA D1 Lacrosse Tournament teams and asking whether or not they were ranked correctly. Was Duke really deserving of the #1 seed? Should a non-AQ Ivy team really have made it in to the tourney over Hofstra? Let’s take a look and see if this selection group is serious!
Gait Lacrosse took care of us and helped us get over to Prague for the Ales Hrebesky Memorial international box lacrosse tournament, and while the vast majority of my time was spent watching, filming, and playing box lacrosse, I also got out to see Prague for almost a full day. Joe Williams from Throne of String was with me the whole time, taping my silliness, and we put together a quick video showing off a day in the City.
The Loyola vs Johns Hopkins rivalry game can no longer be called the “Charles Street Massacre” by anyone in good conscience… it’s simply the “Battle of Charles Street” now, and this battle for Baltimore dominance is only getting better! We’ve got photos, GIFs, and video from this great college lacrosse rivalry game!
Few people are aware that the Vermont Voyageurs are holding training camp this weekend. Only a few more people even know who the Vermont Voyageurs are, but I’m hoping that this lack of knowledge fades, because these guys represent the future of US box lacrosse.
Albany goes down 4-0 to Stony Brook, and then the Thompsons start scoring and things change quickly. We go from upset alert to straight up battle, with #1 seed Albany eventually winning out. You want behind the back goals? You want awesome dodges and passing? You want a game that goes to OT where the Danes win 17-16 and need a last second goal just to make it to OT?
The notion that the author, Dave McKenna, puts out there is summed up thusly:
There is a new trend amongst private school parents to hold their kids back a grade for sports, especially lacrosse, in the DC metro area. This means rich lacrosse parents are holding their kids back solely for sports. It’s cheating and it’s not fair.
This is incredibly lazy reporting and storytelling.
Welcome back to The JuCo Report! The playoffs are going on for the different NJCAA regions, and we are quickly approaching another final playoff run by a couple of teams… Onondaga is the obvious favorite, and they’re looking super tough, but the JuCo season isn’t over until the fat lady sings, and she’s still just warming up.
The 8-Diamond traditional pocket is a classic. When done right, it creates a sturdy and reliable traditional pocket, and while it takes some time to break in, once it’s ready to go it will be your favorite stick ever. Or not. You’ll never know until you give one a try!
It’s an exciting time for International Lacrosse as we get closer and closer to the FIL World Championships in Denver! Connor Wilson provides an update.
Far too often, the grinders get no respect in the world of sport! To remedy this situation, we’re highlighting the offensive play, the defensive play, and now, the face off play from the 2014 Ales Hrebesky Memorial box lacrosse tournament from the Czech Republic!
This week’s Video Explosion takes things to the next level. Not only is there a ton of NCAA D1 men’s lacrosse video, but there is also analysis, and things to watch for in thee coming days and weeks. It’s playoff time and the NCAA tournament hasn’t even started. It’s the busiest time of the year for college field lacrosse, and we’re all loving it!
Yesterday’s Ales Hrebesky Memorial Super Post focused on the results and featured a ton of offensive action. Today’s post focuses on the other side of the ball, and it’s ALL about defense! Big hits, big saves, great takeaway checks and so much more… this Defensive Highlights video is top notch!
