Biggest Upset Of The Year – Video

Bates beating Tufts on the road is still the Biggest Upset of the Year so far, at least in my eyes. Tufts came in to the game as the clear cut #1 team in the country, and Bates came in with a sold 6-4 record, but without a single Top 20 vote, in any poll.

NO ONE saw this upset coming, and as I watched it play out on Twitter, I can admit that I was shocked. Now YOU get to see video highlights from the game, and take in a truly exciting and surprising game for yourself.

A quick note on this highlight video: It shows the successes of BOTH teams, and that makes it awesome. I’m not a huge fan of one sided highlights (unless the game was one sided of course!) and Bates did a great job of really showing what this game was like. Ok, enough of me talking… let’s get to the Biggest Upset of the Year highlights!

Now, it should be noted that Tufts would go on to DESTROY Hamilton and then Endicott, 25-6 and 22-6, respectively. Bates would also go on to win, and take their SECOND straight top 10 win home with them as they beat Middlebury 14-9. Bates is TRULY surging right now!

Man, now I REALLY want to see those Bates vs Middlebury highlights!

The NESCAC is kind of crazy this year, and only Conn College is winless with an 0-8 record in conference. Of course they did play Tufts to a one goal game earlier in the year!

Amherst, Tufts, Williams, Middlebury, Wesleyan, and Bates have all seen time in the top 20 this year. 6 out of 11 ain’t bad for one conference. Currently Tufts is #3, Amherst is #6, Middlebury is #9, Bates is #14, Williams is #19, and Wesleyan is #20. THAT is a power conference, people! Impressive stuff, NESCAC Men’s Lacrosse!
