Hey connor you should check this out. http://www.dresden-braves.de/boxlacrosse/, it is a box lacrosse tournament in Dresden Germany that is taking place this weekend. LCC Radotin will be there, along with the Dresden Braves who are hosting the tournament(who I am playing and coaching for, coming out of Buffalo, NY). But we will have teams from the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Slovakia and more teams from Germany and the Czech Republic

It is the first year for the tournament, and the first box experince for most Germans. but all in all it should be a great tournament.

actually I said they had a high level of skill, could pass well and shot nicely off a catch... well that and they played good team lacrosse! So NO, I did not say they will make it b/c of their passion, like you contended above, although I do think their passion for the sport will help them.

I made a claim and backed it up with first hand observation; e.g. what I had seen over there. You are also making a claim but not backing it up all... so I guess you're right. Anyone CAN make claims! Would love to hear why you're so convinced it won't happen.

So you're saying that because Czech players have a high level of "passion" they'll make it to Div 1. Saying that there is a "Czech Pipeline is up next" is stretching things...well a lot don't you think? Anyone can make claims....

I believe another contributing factor is, that many of the skilled and younger players will have experience playing at the international level (world and European championships) as well as practicing and playing against significantly older players (25 years+) at their physical peak.

great question!

There are only a limited number of clubs, that is true. But the guys who play the game in the CR play it with a passion, they play hard and they play team ball. Many of the Europe teams I played against had a bunch of 16-20 year old players, and these teams played with us, or beat us, and we were a team of all college lacrosse graduates. Many of whom had played at the D1 level.

Yes, field and box are different, but as the Canadians have proved, if you can score in box, you can score in field. So since these Czech players can score in box, I assume they too can score in college.

Clubs like Radotin have very strong youth presences as well, and some of the 10-11 year old kids I saw were already throwing btbs with ease and picking corners. If they really keep at it, I wouldn't be shocked to see a couple of them in US colleges.

Really the level of play, and relative youth over there made me a believer. I had to see it to believe it, and now I do!

For the sake of discussion, what makes you think that Czech players will be the next big thing following Canadians? The number of lacrosse teams in all of Europe is very spread out. What makes for their skill level to be that high up other than having a natural talent for it?
