The lives of all 4 people involved (and many others) could be tarnished for years in any number of ways regardless of whether the allegations are true or not. Also, we are very aware, as a society, about victims of rape and I think that showing concern like that is very much needed. However, we have also seen instances where the accused turned into the victims and having their names out in public isn't much better (especially if they are eventually cleared). I'm sure some Criminal Law JD could fill me in here but all in all the almost instant access to info really only seems to retard cases instead of make them clearer.
