I hate to disagree with Pelo Loco on anything but re: young players going to Europe, I have to.

I don't have a problem with young kids going to Europe... even if they are doing it for the money. I mean, let's be honest, if you're a blue chip bball recruit you're going to spend 1, MAYBE 2 years at the NCAA level and what exactly is that doing for the school? win some more games? maybe. get some more alumni money? possibly. lower the educational standards of your ACADEMIC institution? definitely. Am I generalizing? of course. there are kids out there who go to class, get As and are bball all-americans but the majority of kids (You can see this via NCAA stats on grade differences between regular students and student-athletes (lacrosse was #1... again))only care enough about class to be eligible, tutors do all their work for them at many schools and on campus (where intelligence should be valued above all) they get special treatment because they can throw a sphere through a circle. give me a break. Does it take intelligence to play basketball? sure it does... but its not the same thing and we all know it. I would say the same thing about the NFL but at least they force the kids to pretend to be students for at least 3 years... wait, maybe that's worse.

Anyway, my point is, if kids aren't going to college for college and are only going for sports then let them go to Europe, wish them luck and thank your lucky stars they won't be lowering your school's academic rep any longer.

I love college.
I love student-athletes.
I hate athlete-students.

I don't really blame the kids at all either. They are doing what is in their best interests and I can respect that... I do, however, blame the Universities. At one point the Cincinatti Bball team graduated ZERO players in 4 years over a decade long period of time... and to me, THAT is straight up scary.

Completely agree on Oden. It was a kick to the groin to watch him get injured again. Jennings would make a great lacrosse player but its hard to argue with D-Wade. He has a freaky athleticism that would work in any sport.
