MAC should not be here that is a solid division that continues to improve. Will take down a top team opponent soon. Albright beat Dowling(D2 nat champ) during fall ball this year.

Oh, I get it now, only the East Coast schools are deserving of NCAA bids. If you want the sport to grow, you’re gonna have to pass out treats. Tournament bids are those treats.
For budding programs, a shot at the tournament is a HUGE recruiting tool.

I’m all for making the field bigger. More competition will breed better players all across the country. This isn’t D1. There are no scholarships to play. The players do it for the love of the sport. What better way to encourage growth of the sport than to open the Championship to more teams across the country.

Closs losses are just that, losses. The top 8 is a pretty arbitrary distinction to make and probably impossible to identify. try picking the top 8 teams in the country with any certainty. You can’t. That’s why we have a tournament and that’s why more teams that are capable of competing should be allowed to participate.

Widener out of the MAC has been competing with the top teams, one goal game losses to Stevenson and salisbury, and dickinson the last two years. Plus outside of the top 8 or so teams, no one is good enough to get the whole way through the national championship. The south is harder to get through than the north but I do agree that the remaining teams should be judged the same

Keene beat a Genny team this year that is clearly down and hurting, not the Genny teams of ’09 and ’10, both squads that I would have loved to see in the tourney.
