Gary Charles Gait. His name is synonymous with lacrosse. He holds record in just about everything. Even in his last years of playing, he was one of the best players in the game. He has his own brand. He played for a LONG time and was still feared by his opponents. Had rules changed because of his play. Until someone revolutionizes the sport like Gait did, (which may never happen), he will continue to be regarded as the best player to ever play the game. First line from his wikipedia page, “ is WIDELY regarded as the best lacrosse player of all time, just above his twin brother Paul.”

(P.S. I know 8 out of the 9 players I named were from Syracuse and Johns Hopkins, but in all honesty, anyone who has been familiar with the sport for more than a year would likely agree that when talking about the history of college lacrosse, College Lacrosse, Syracuse University, and Johns Hopkins University go hand in hand.)

he is so far beyond every other player in the league, he literally puts the team on his shoulders and wins

every game he shuts off the opponent’s best offensive player (rabil last week)

picks off passes, grabs nearly every ground ball near him

and starts 10+ fast breaks every single game

and he probably has better stick skills than most offensive field players

he is unreal

I’d favor him matching up against any offensive player in lacrosse history
