[dropcap]G[/dropcap]reetings fellow lacrosse enthusiasts, and a very happy 4th of July to you! Welcome to another long-overdue issue of Crosse Clicks. I’ve been so slammed the past few weeks that it’s been difficult to “do it all” – I’m sure there are quite a few of you out there who can relate. Building something that’s never been built before isn’t easy, but man oh man is it a wild ride!

Today I just have a few quick things to discuss. With the World Games in Denver coming right up, there’s a lot on my mind…

Quick Sand

If you haven’t heard yet, today’s biggest news is that living legend John Grant Jr. has been sidelined by the FIL. I’m not going to tell you why because I think you need to read the full article at LaxMagazine.com before you pass any judgement. At times like these, professional athletes are too often thrown into the quick sand of fan opinion and toxic speculation.

Optik Fireworks

Made in the USA, the new Maverik Optik head hit the market today, and so far it appears to be making a splash. Speaking with Billy Bitter a couple of months ago, he mentioned something particularly interesting. Designed for players focused on being an offensive threat, its light weight and sidewall structure make it appealing to those of us who enjoy doing stick tricks!

Banana Splits

Believe it or not, LaxAllStars.com has been LaxAllStars.com for quite a few years. Fellow college teammate and close pal Ryan Craven and I came up with the idea and launched a terrible version all in one day. That day was July 4th, 2008!

So much has changed over the course of time, yet the important things remain the same. Today I’m celebrating with my wife, our #laxdog, LaxAllStars.com’s editor Mark, and the entire Brunelle family at my grandmother’s house by taking in the 4th of July fireworks over the City of Trees. And after that, we’re all having one of Grandma Bev’s famous banana splits.

I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July. Stay safe, be free, and do a stick trick or three for me and the LAS team!

– Jeff Brunelle, LaxAllStars.com
