Lax Vegas 2013: Photos from the Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase

The 2013 Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase went down last weekend in Sin City, and I was there for two of the three days with the UCLA team. We were competing in the Best of the West collegiate division, but this year’s tournament once again hosted high school through master’s divisions, plus a women’s open division as well!

Every year the LVLS also has a charity component. This year, the foundation for which the tournament raised funds was One City Lacrosse, an Encore Brand team and non-profit “formed in 2009 to enrich the lives of under-served youth through lacrosse and education.” Check out One City’s website for more info about the program. Encore was also a tournament sponsor, and tons of Encore teams were in attendance.

Now on to the photos!

I’m not sure of all the winners, but I do know that BYU took home the college title, Rip City won the High School U19 division, and South Bay beat Dub C for the men’s open championship.

Overall, it was a great tournament for our team. While we didn’t win as many games as we would have liked, every single player got excellent playing time, the team showed some great potential (like battling BYU to a one-goal game!), and the guys were able to bond on the trip. That’s what Fall Ball is all about! Add on that the weather was perfect, the fields were turf, and we got to play lacrosse all weekend…What more can you ask for?

Were you at the LVLS too? Send your photos to info@laxallstars.com and we’ll show them off to the LAS Community!
