The 2011 Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase was a blast, and therefore, we have high expectations for 2012. Thankfully, the guys who run the LVLS really have their act together, so we know they’re going to put together another special event!
We’ve put together a great team of Lacrosse All Stars readers to take the field in Vegas, and there is a good chance you’ll recognize some of the names of commenters, or super famous pro players, on the roster:
Men’s Elite
Attack – Jeremy Sieverts, Mike Christensen
Midfield – Will DeSiervo, Josh Amidon, Anthony Kelly, Brennen Green, Krieg Shaw, Jon Mundy, Matt Messina, Nate Watkins
Defense – James Kaen, Hamilton Pollard, Dave Ogle, Lorne Silverstein
Goalie – Tim Cassi
Men’s Masters
Attack – Jim Kappler, Greg Peters, Jared Smith, Jon Bongiorno
Midfield – Brian Silcott, Bill Edell, Randy Fraser, Paul Talmo, Rich Becker
Defense – Peter Schaffer, Sean Hoban, Josh Rachman
Goalie – Anthony Katagas
As was said above, it’s a talented bunch of high-character lacrosse men. Any team that wants to win some games in Las Vegas needs some horses, and depth helps, especially as the games wear on. A couple of stud scorers and a lights out goalie never hurts either!
If we want to win some games, we’ll need to bring our A-game. While we have talent, we also aren’t alone in that regard, and our competition should prove stiff. Check out our full schedule below to see just how tough our road will be.
Friday
4:10 PM – Lacrosse All Stars vs. Shooterz – Elite Division
6:30 PM – Lacrosse All Stars vs. Team Colorado – Masters Division
Saturday
12:30 PM – Lacrosse All Stars vs. Twisted Steel – Elite Division
4 PM – Lacrosse All Stars vs. South Bay – Elite Division
2:50 PM – Lacrosse All Stars vs. Montezuma’s Revenge – Masters Division
5:10 & 6:20 PM – Masters Division Semifinals
Sunday
For the Elite Division, semifinals are held at 11:10 AM, two consolation games are played at 12:30 PM, and the Finals go down at 1:30 PM.
For the Masters Division, the consolation games take place Sunday morning starting at 10 AM and the Championship will be played at 1:30 PM.
In Vegas, that elusive championship could be tough, but that’s why you play the game, right?
Some people also play the game to look good, or so we’ve heard, anyway. Check out our uniforms for LAS Vegas… behold:
Nothing super fancy. Just standard excellence and stuff you can wear once the tourney is over.
