Mardi Gras Lacrosse Tournament Video Highlights

Tony'S Tavern 2011 Mardi Gras Champs New Orleans Lacrosse Lax
Tony’s Tavern, 2011 Mardi Gras Champs!

I sent back instant update blackberry photos all weekend.  I uploaded some more pictures I took with my crappy camera and we’ll have a couple more galleries coming soon.  They will be much better than what I managed to get.  But I DO have video.  And considering I only filmed about half of it (HS volunteers did the rest.  THANK YOU, GUYS!), did it ALL on a flipcam, and then edited it at home on my laptop, I think it turned out pretty well!

Seriously, if you pay someone for a highlight tape and it’s not better than this, you got robbed!  HSers, flipcam, home editing with little experience beyond what I did for the Mardi Gras tourney last year.  I need to make movies!  Jokes.

Anyway, the play was sloppy at times but sloppines is to be expected in New Orleans.  It’s just the way the town rolls.  The most ridiculous goal of the tourney occurs when my brother desticks some guy, the stick goes 20 feet in the air and the ball flies right into the attackmen’s stick.  The make a backside pass and score.  Almost as good as last year’s full field assist by the Canadians!  That footage is below as well.

Mike Brand makes a couple of appearances on the field but Cajun Corner Knox just had too much lax in Baton Rouge to make it.  Maybe in 2012!!!  Thanks to Bobby Jee for the Photo of Tony’s Tavern LC after their win!!

Crazy goal at the 2:30 mark… FYI, both videos are better when you click the full screen icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the video.

The music is Avalon and the Fam, a band out of Philips Academy Andover in the late 90s.  I couldn’t find a link or anything to any of their stuff anywhere.  But it’s awesome music.  You’re welcome.

Ridiculous goal is at the 4:50 mark by the way…
