Video: Eagle Academy Lacrosse – Week One

The Eagle Academy Lacrosse Team is off to a good start in its first year as a Developmental Program within New York City’s PSAL (Public School Athletic League). The team has had lower numbers than either of its opponents (usually about half as many: 30 vs 15), but has played very competitively so far.

The NYC public school is located in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn, between Bed-Stuy and Brownsville. I am currently helping out with the team, and Arun Antonyraj has stepped in as the head coach this year. Mike Skrilow started the program and will be returning to coach in 2014.

With Week One in the books, Eagle is 1-0-1, with a road win over Curtis HS JV on Tuesday, and an 8-8 double OT tie with Tottenville HS JV on Thursday in Brooklyn. The team took the Staten Island Ferry to game one, and that alone was a very cool experience for the team.

We’ll be back each week with more updates on Eagle Lacrosse, so stay tuned!
