Miles Thompson made his Major League Lacrosse debut for the Rochester Rattlers this past weekend, and the 2014 Tewaaraton winner (along with his younger brother, Lyle) got going right away in MLL play, with a hockey assist on the first goal of his first game. The ball swung to Miles at X, he moved it along quickly, and one more pass later, the ball was in the net.
Moments later, Miles was on the receiving end of a tic-tac-toe passing sequence, and he bagged his first MLL goal standing on the crease, benefiting from three quick Rochester passes. Later in the game, Miles knocked down a Brett Queener outlet pass, which Rochester finished. Thompson blended in to the O pretty seamlessly, handled the ball a bit more than he did at Albany, and looked like a rookie who could do some serious damage.
Miles is also wearing #74, like his brother, Jeremy. David Lawson wears #2, but I get the feeling #74 means something extra. We’ll have to look into that! Thompson finished the game with 1 goal on 3 shots and 2 GBs.
