England Lacrosse, along with head coach Matthew Bagley, has announced the 23-man team that will head to Denver, CO this sumer to compete in the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championship to represent England.
The squad is boasting players from 8 English clubs which also included a handful of players from the 2010 Word Championships and 2012 Euro Championship, where they won gold. A handful of players are former or current NCAA and MCLA lacrosse products with one player (Prosser) finding time on the LXM PRO Tour.
Team England will feature an array of both young and experienced talent. They head to Colorado on July 3rd to begin final preparations before squaring off against the Iroquois Nationals on July 11th in round 1.
Team England will be holding an open Training Session and Scrimmage Game as part on the Manchester Challenge which will take place next weekend (Sunday 8th June) at the University of Manchester Armitage Centre. The Mayor of Manchester will be attending the event to meet the team and wish the best of luck in Denver. Manchester and Lacrosse share a special relationship hosting the 2010 World Championships and welcoming the Lacrosse World back in 2018.
