Ex-Laxer Running For A Great Cause

Running a marathon is tough.  26.2 miles of non-stop running pushes many people to their limit. There’s nothing like digging deep to find the personal motivation to get through it. Matt Breuer will rely on that personal motivation like so many other runners at the New York City Marathon on November 7th, but he will have an additional inspiration prompting him to keep on putting one foot in front of the other.

Matt is a former Duke lacrosse player who is running the marathon to raise funds for the Fallen Rangers fund, which assists the families of Army Rangers that are killed or disabled.  The story of Manhasset (Long Island) native Jimmy Regan, a fellow Duke grad who was killed in action in Iraq, makes the run and fund raising even more personal for Matt even though the two graduated almost 10 years apart.

Last year Matt’s team raised around $75,000 for the Fallen Rangers fund and this year they hope to double that amount.  If you want to contribute, please visit Matt’s fundraising page and make a donation to support the lacrosse community, our collective friends and family serving overseas and an overall great cause!  Jimmy did his part, Matt is now doing his.  Now, what are YOU doing?

The NYC Marathon is HUGE.
