As we get closer to the First annual Salt Shakerz Invitational (June 25, 26 in NYC — (get more info at laxoften.com) the Shakerz want to give LAS readers a continuing taste of what to expect at the tourney by highlighting the different teams that will be coming to the tournament. This week we’re focusing on the Machine. The Shakerz are very excited and grateful that they will be making the trip to NYC. Primarily a Masters Level team, the Machine, who were previously known as the “Black and Gold Machine” and the “Big Red Machine”, is excited to extend its reach onto Randall’s Island this summer for the 2011 SSZ Invitational!
Headquartered in North Syracuse, NY, the Machine has recruited some of that Lax Mecca’s young talent for this tourney, and to one day feed into the Masters team. Founded by, and featuring, numerous Oneonta State alumni, Machine also participates in the Upstate Outdoor Lacrosse League, the Lake Placid Tournament, and Little War on the Seneca.
2011 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the Machine as the club continues to evolve. Continued sponsorship from Jake Hafner’s Restaurant and Tavern has helped the squad upgrade their appearance. Look for Machine limited edition, NYC only kits on the field and the guys invite tourney participants to join them for their NYC Subway Photo Shoot.
Finally, the Machine appreciate all the hard work, dedication and hospitality of the Anthropomorphic Sodium Chloride Dispensers, AKA the Salt Shakerz, and the opportunity to be part of a great event.
