West Side Lacrosse ELITE 25 Power Rankings

Today, West Side Lacrosse released their new ELITE 25 Boys Individual Power Rankings. In a nutshell, this is a list of the best boys high school players from the Western US. According to WSL, “The Elite 25 has been selected by an independent committee of respected lacrosse figures throughout the community” that included Kevin Corrigan, Head Coach of University of Notre Dame, and Dave Campbell, Head Coach of Middlebury College. WSL Releases Elite 25

West Side Lacrosse, the Western United States’ leader for lacrosse news and information, has released its first-ever Boys Elite 25 Individual Power Rankings. WSL has commissioned an independent panel of national lacrosse figures to select the West’s first Player Rankings. Three times a year, WSL will post the Top 25 seniors, juniors and sophomores in the Western United States. To be eligible for selection, players must participate in WSL Elite 25 sanctioned events so that they can be properly evaluated by the panel. All information can be found at www.westsidelax.com.

Here’s a quick look at the Top 5 according to West Side Lacrosse:

1. Patrick Murray, Midfield; Kent Denver, CO
College Selection: Georgetown

2. Peter Baum, Middie; Lincoln, OR
College Selection: Colgate

3. Pierce Bassett, Goalie; Brophy Prep, AZ
College Selection: Johns Hopkins

4. Landon Carr, Middie; Curtis, WA
College Selection: Maryland

5. Mike Beimford, Attackman; Cherry Creek, CO
College Selection: Ohio State

Overall, this looks like a very accurate list of top-notch talent from the West. And it’s great proof that the West Coast is beginning to thrive in the lacrosse scene. More and more talented athletes are heading East for college – to knock heads with East Coast kids who were born with sticks in their hands.
