What Do You Owe?

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

To whom, or for what are you responsible? If our “friends and family” is the best that we can come up with, I think we’re very shortsighted. I don’t expect that we’ll each shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars for every admirable cause on the planet, or hop on the next plane to a third world country to do missionary work. But I would submit to you that if do not feel some sort of responsibility to the human community you are missing out on life.

Our time and our money are precious. But most of us have had countless people invest time and money on our behalf, whether it’s for school, extra curricular activities, training, mentoring, advising, investing, gas, rides, … the list goes on. Chances are, we’ll never be able to pay back each and every person that has invested money, time, or energy in us because there are too many. And aside from money, we can’t quantify the value of those investments. So the only thing that we can do is pay it forward. And until we’ve invested as much or more than that which has been invested in us, we are forever indebted to the world. There’s not one person on this planet that is self made. Not you, not me, not anybody.

So, given your own talents and gifts, what is your responsibility to this world? Knowing what this world has given you, what do you owe?

Make it a GREAT day!

Stay blessed.
