I have some pretty good info from a VERY reliable source that SMU will in fact start playing lacrosse in 2014 and the likely coach will be Rich Meade. The connection? Orsini and Meade were college roomates.

Lacrosse is exploding in Dallas. Interesting that one of the current SMU coaches founded the Frisco Lacrosse Association. Looks like he is already growing SMU’s future.

SMU is no slouch school either. The others will have to soon follow… if not for the growth of the game, for the $$$. They will soon see the $$$ in GTG’ing.

Dallas TX is not an emerging market… it is a thriving lacrosse market and SMU would not have to spend much time recruiting! That, and with Houston/Austin/San Antonio becoming lacrosse hotbeds, there is tons of talent in the state to fill the SMU player pool.
