England defeats Israel 10-9 in overtime battle – Photo Blast

In a hard-hitting, physical match-up between England and Israel, the England men’s national lacrosse team came out victorious in overtime 10-9. Neck and neck until the final seconds, these two teams may have solidified a long-term international rivalry with one another given the intensity of play.

Led by Ari Sussman (3g) and Matthew Cherry (2g, 1a), Israel, a team with an incredible story of its own, never backed down, forcing England’s goalie Ben McAllister (23 saves) to stand on his head throughout the game. In fact, had it not been for the dominate and skillful play of McAllister, overtime may not have occurred at all.

With 34 seconds left in overtime, England’s Nicholas Watson (4g) landed an unassisted goal for the win. What follows below are select photos I took during the game. Hope you enjoy!
