Spring Has Sprung

GREAT Monday morning, ladies and gentlemen!
The past has passed. And unless it’s name is, Michael Jordan or Brett Favre, it’s not coming back. ** Yes. Just like retro Nikes, the flatop and box fade, tight clothes, and Marvel comics, both Jordan and Favre will come back… again…. again, a[nother]gain(?)**

After a meeting of the minds, Jordan contemplates sage advice from the great Bill Russell. “What these young bloods have to understand is that this game has always been, and will always be, about buckets.” It’s never too late.

But I digress… The past has passed us. Let it remain there! The only positive way that the past can serve us in the present is as an advisor. An advisor, however, is not a general, an admiral, or anyone thing else that commands a “do as I say” type of respect. The past has it’s place in our lives, but it’s our responsibility to keep it there. As soon as we allow the past too much influence in the present we sacrifice our own influence.

We aren’t going to change the past. Good things or bad things. They are done. Being stuck on the good (which, by the way, is a significantly better place to be stuck if it happens), can also negatively affect us if we begin to set an unrealistic expectation of how things will or should always be. If we’re stuck on the bad, we’ll never be able to move on to the good that is in store for us. So our task is not to forget the past, but to use it as a resource.

The first recipe for happiness is: avoid too lengthy meditation on the past.” – Andre Maurois

As you begin the week, let go of the past. There’s no need to drag last week into this week, or yesterday into today. Spring has sprung, and spring cleaning may need to be at the top of your list.

Make it a GREAT day and a GREAT week!

Stay blessed.
