As for the refs, the first thing you are taught when breaking up a fight is make sure you are protected unless it's absolutely imparative that you break it up.. Last thing you need is to get clocked with a haymaker while trying to break up a fight.

I'd rather have 2 15 year olds fighting each other as their first experience than an 18 year old who has never been in a fight taking on a guy like Geoff Snider… the question is, how long can we baby our kids? I think being able to fight is perfect for kids entering the HS age bracket as it gives them some time before they hit the next level, where fighting is just part of the game.
