Thanks Dave, glad you enjoyed this interview. We’ve got a team of AWESOME contributors and a talented Content Director always keeping his finger on the pulse of the game. If we do a follow up interview we’ll definitely ask about LaxUnited.com, but my guess is that it was just a matter of condensing everything under the MajorLeagueLacrosse.com domain.

Dave said he wants editorials when I was the only one who wrote them last year (and years before)…and was admonished for doing so? Interesting.

Great interview. Very informative – especially about the expansion plans. I always hated that I never made it to a Machine game (6 hours away by car), but I planned to go last year and was even making plans to hang out with some Lizards players (only NY team I support) after that game. Then they announced the travel schedule instead.
With renewed expansion talks and two markets already identified for 2012, I am hopeful that an MLL club will be back in my neck of the woods. My gut tells me that Kansas City will be one of those teams based on the Wizards’ rebranding to Sporting KC. SKC is a comprehensive “club” with plans to host MLS and other sports at the new stadium. Lacrosse and rugby were mentioned several times as part of SKC.
As the lax scene in KC continues to grow and is supplemented by Wichita, Omaha, and Des Moines, an MLL team would be HUGE. Since we have no D1 teams in our region, the MLL team could be VERY influential on our future development. Plus KC is only 3.5 hours away and the stadium is beautiful and in a great area with lots to do. My fingers are definitely crossed!

And to our readers out there: Listen up! MLL games are a ton of fun and provide a GREAT value. You can’t get this close to the best players in the world in ANY other pro league. The talent on the field is preposterous and the tempo is fast-paced, a lot of up and downs and very exciting. Over the years, when I lived in Boston during the summers, I probably went to 20 Cannons games. Great time, every time!

Definitely going to hit up some Lizards games (sorry Matt! it’s closest to NYC!) this summer!
