Christmas Come Early

Last weekend wasn’t a good weekend for New York football fans, but it’s going to be a great weekend for New York lax fans!

NYFOOTBALL

My company, Top Side Lacrosse LLC, was founded by lacrosse players for lacrosse players. We offer numerous events throughout the year to keep players of all ages active in the off-season. We have several events coming up that I would like to share with you:

1. Men’s Collegiate/Post-Collegiate Indoor Fall/Winter League

We all know there are never enough lax leagues in the Tri-State area. That’s why Top Side Lacrosse has teamed up with another NY lacrosse organization called ULAX (University Lacrosse) and will be bringing laxies the only men’s indoor fall/winter league in the NY area. Register at www.ulax.org.

2. Boy’s Modified/Varsity Indoor Lacrosse League

Top Side Lacrosse is also hosting its Second Annual Westchester Winter Lacrosse League. Last year, the league was such a great success at the high school level that we expanded the league to include modified teams as well! Details on the Modified and Varsity leagues can also be found at www.topsidelacrosse.com.

3. Boy’s FREE Lacrosse Clinic

‘Tis the season to be jolly right? As an early Christmas gift, Top Side Lacrosse is offering a free lacrosse clinic for boys in 3rd-8th grade. The clinic is designed for players of all abilities to learn the game, improve their game and most of all learn to love the game. All info is up at www.topsidelacrosse.com.

Now down to business…

As the game continues to gain more notoriety and fans, several Lacrosse based companies have emerged to try and partake in the growing interest. Flux Lacrosse is a clothing line that sells exclusively with Lacrosse Unlimited. Jumbo Apparel is another lacrosse-inspired clothing line started up by a buddy of mine. Other major companies like Under Armour, Nike, Reebok and Adidas have gotten their feet wet in the lax biz as well.

1lacrosseBut a fairly new company has emerged to play a role in a formerly overlooked sector of the lacrosse market. 1Lacrosse can take any design you can think of and put it on a shaft. They recently were contracted by Under Armour to supply the Under Armour All-American High School team with custom UA shafts. Lucky for you guys, they just signed me as their NY Sales rep and I’m looking to build on their success with supplying the Tri-State area with custom team shafts.

Check out their website or mine and email me at Justin@1Lacrosse.com with questions.

And finally, there are a few topics I need some comments on:

1. What do you guys think of the new stick specs? Yay or nay? What effect will it have on the game?

2. Best tournament of the 2009 year? South Beach? Laxtoberfest? Tell us your tourney stories.

3. Shot clocks at the college level? Do we need them or is the game fast enough?

4. College Lacrosse 2010 video game! Will it be a huge success or a massive flop like Blast Lacrosse? See video and photos of Facebook at www.facebook.com/collegelacrosse2010.

Keep laxin’
