MLL and YouTube Announce exclusive fifteen-game schedule 15 marquee matchups of the 2013 MLL season to be broadcast exclusively on the video-sharing site

BOSTON, Mass. (Mon., April 22, 2013) – Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that YouTube, the world-renowned video sharing site, will carry 15 games in high definition exclusively on the League’s channel YouTube.com/MLL, making the games available on a variety of platforms worldwide.

“We are very excited to bring 15 games exclusively to our YouTube Channel,” said MLL Commissioner David Gross. “This partnership will bring MLL to lacrosse fans all over the world as they will be able to watch the games on their smart TVs, computers or mobile devices.”

The partnership with YouTube has been facilitated by The Lacrosse Network (TLN), who handles lacrosse media distribution with YouTube. TLN will provide support in the distribution and technical side of the streams. The company has been working with the production team to ensure that it can bring the highest quality streams to YouTube. TLN is also working with Google to provide an enhanced viewing experience to the users that will be unique to its network of channels, including being able to interact with commentators and interact with Google hangouts during games.

Samir Chaudry, President of TLN echoed MLL Commissioner David Gross’s enthusiasm. “Our mission at TLN is to grow the game of lacrosse through the power of media. We are proud to partner with the MLL and believe that the global distribution of MLL games on YouTube’s interactive platform is a big win for the world-wide lacrosse community.”

The first game to be carried on YouTube will be the matchup between the Boston Cannons and the newly re-branded New York Lizards on Sunday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Ohio Machine’s home opener against the Denver Outlaws on Saturday, May 4 at 8:00 p.m. YouTube will also carry the Rochester Rattlers showdown against the Hamilton Nationals from FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla., Saturday, June 22, at 7:00 p.m.

Play-by-play duties will be handled by a variety of commentators with Steve Warzala taking the bulk of the games and Eamon McAnaney, Todd Bell, Mike Evans and Jon Meterparel filling in. Andrew ‘Buggs’ Combs, Brendan McDaniel, Ron Zwerin, Brett Manney and Brian Shanahan will serve as analysts.
