The Salt Shakerz Lacrosse Club is proud to announce their new project “A Game to Give 2014.”

For the past few years the Shakerz have raised money for and taken part in the Avon Walk in New York City. Last year the Shakerz raised over $5,500 and this year they decided to up their philanthropic efforts and look to blow last year’s number out of the water by raising $8,000, but they need your help!

This year they will by hosting a charity lacrosse game on September 28th at Bronxville High School in New York.

The event will feature a youth game, played between Top Side Snipers and Bronxville Youth Lacrosse, followed by the Salt Shakerz vs. New York City Elite. The Shakerz have rolled out the red carpet, inviting women from “Girls Night Out” a Breast Cancer Support Group of Montefiore New Rochelle as the guests of honor.

Vendors will be on site so you can check out all the new lacrosse gear, plenty of items will be up for raffle, and local news will be covering the event. Gates open at noon and admission is $1 (although higher donations are always welcome). All admission fees and raffle proceeds will be donated to “Girls Night Out.”

George Rohonczy, Director of Community Service at Salt Shakerz Lacrosse, said “We are really excited about this event. Not only do we get to host a youth game and give the kids a chance to watch some current and former pro lacrosse players out there, but we get to meet the people behind the initiatives we champion. It’s special. We want to make this event THE kickoff to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, not only for our team, but for all of the New York Metro Area! ”

All of this would not be possible without the help of their generous sponsors. The Shakerz and NYC Elite squads will be tearing up the field in some sweet new uniforms, donated by 14 Graphics for the event.
