Creighton Bluejays and the March Madness

Re-cap of Last Week: Despite a letdown from the B-ball team having their bubble burst and missing a trip the Big Dance, the Jay’s lacrosse team continued their winning ways on a trip to South Dakota.

Creighton Bluejays Soar To 5-1 record, Big Weekend Ahead

The Bluejays completed a successful 2 game road trip on Saturday. Creighton made the trip to Vermillion, SD to play games against the University of South Dakota and Augsburg College .

Rooting on the Jays in OmahaRooting on the Jays in Omaha The first game against USD started out well for the Bluejays as they jumped out to a 8-0 lead in the first quarter. The offense was clicking on all cylinders and Creighton never slowed down. The final score was 23-2 in favor of the Bluejays. The whole Creighton Bluejays squad got some good playing time and stats were spread around evenly. The top performers were Junior Attackman Michael Carmody (2 goals, 9 assists), Junior Attackman Alex Boschulte (6 goals, 3 assists) and Freshman Midfielder Peter Bermes (3 goals, 0 assists).

The next game against the Augsburg Auggies went just as well for the Bluejays. The team kept the momentum rolling and had a commanding 13-1 lead at halftime. Creighton held Augsburg to only one goal and the final tally was 20-1 in favor of the Bluejays. The attack line did their part in this game, contributing 24 points in all, Michael Carmody (3 goals, 4 assists), Tyler Craven (4 goals, 3 assists), and Alex Boschulte (7 goals, 3 assists).

Creighton Bluejays now stands at 5-1 and hosts their first home games this upcoming weekend. Creighton will play Dordt College on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00am and Rockhurst University on Sunday, March 29 at 1:00pm.
