Johns Hopkins Announces 2014 Captains

Seniors Rob Guida and James Malm, along with Junior Mike Pellegrino, have been named the 2014 captains for the Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse program. Hop missed out on the NCAA tournament last year, so the naming of captains definitely has a little extra spark to it this year. These are the guys that will be leading Hop back to the playoffs. Think they’re going to miss it? I find it doubtful!

I also love a Junior captain. It shows the coaches aren’t just focused on who has earned what by seniority, but by leadership. It’s a small note, but one worth making, at least in this writer’s estimation.

Other JHU Men’s Lacrosse Notes of Interest

•  The 2014 roster has been posted online.  Click here to view the roster now.

•  Reminder that JHU will welcome UMass, Rutgers and Fairfield to Homewood Field for a day of scrimmages on Sunday, October 13.  The schedule for the day is listed below:

9 am – Johns Hopkins vs. UMass
11 am – UMass vs. Rutgers
1 pm – Rutgers vs. Fairfield
3 pm – Johns Hopkins vs. Fairfield

There is no admission fee to attend the scrimmages at Homewood on Sunday.
