Each week we’re looking for a superb lacrosse photo from one of our readers. If your photo is selected as Photo Of The Week, you win something awesome from LAS!
This week, we’re featuring TWO photos by LAS contributor, Barbarosa, that feature an absolutely stunning overview shot of Bellevue High School lacrosse action (see the team’s shorts here), and a great close up. Above AND On-the-field photography is just so rare!
We’ll let Barbarosa fill you in a little more himself:
Here are two photos from Bellevue High (Washington) preseason team camp, which is held at an old fort on Whidbey Island, a ferry ride north and west of Seattle. The top 30 or so Bellevue players and the coaching staff take over the place for a weekend of team building, drills, practice and bonding. As you can see, the grounds quickly get transformed into one of the most beautiful lacrosse fields around.
The first photo (above) is an overview shot of Day One drills and practices. The 2nd photo (below) is from the Day Two intrasquad game. Since it was just a scrimmage, I was wandering out onto the field to take photos. I got a little too close to Bellevue’s senior defenseman, Sam Leggett (in blue) as he cleared upfield, guarded by standout freshman Gavin Cipoletti (#20.) Fortunately, I managed to keep shooting as I tried to get out of the way. I got lucky and one photo was a keeper.
From almost getting hit in the face with a stick to being the LaxAllStars.com Photo of the Week! Phew, that was a close one!
