NLL Previews And Predictions: Week 11

Only a few games this past weekend but that does not mean there wasn’t a TON of action. High scoring games and a few brawls, classic NLL action. The Rock kept on rolling as they took down Colorado at the Air Canada Centre. Calgary defeated Minnesota in a high-scoring shootout on a score of 19-15. Colorado was able to bounce back and take down the Bandits at home. The Bandits in what seems to be a mid-season slump. Washington defeated Philadelphia on a score of 16-10. Buffalo was without John Travares this weekend and Philly was without their captain Brodie Merrill. Both teams didn’t have their key stars and both teams lost.

A handful of trades also went down this week. Some were pretty huge!

Rochester’s Casey Powell was dealt to Colorado for defender Jon Sullivan and a 3rd round pick in the 2014 entry draft. Then, earlier this morning I found out that Buffalo traded defense man Scott Self to Rochester for Alex “Kedoh” Hill. Hill has been playing in the CLax this season and has been tearing it up, so maybe we will see him suit up for the Bandits in the near future. Rochester has been stacking their defense, lets see if it is the key to winning more games.

  • Toronto Rock @ Philadelphia Wings

Connor Wilson – Philadelphia Wings “Either Toronto wins big, or Philly wins a closer scoring game. I like competitive lacrosse. I’ll go with Philly by 2 at home“.

Chris Rosenthall – Toronto Rock “The wings win their games in bunches, and they lose them the same way. They lost last weekend, and this weekend they’ll lose to the Rock“.

Ryan Connors – Toronto Rock “The Rock are just playing good lacrosse right now, can’t be stopped“.

  • Edmonton Rush @ Rochester Knighthawks

Connor Wilson – Rochester Knighthawks “My gut says Edmonton wins. I bet against my gut when it comes to Rochester. I’ll keep saying it. ROCH wins“.

Chris Rosenthall – Edmonton Rush “I really don’t know why I bother picking Rochester games instead of just writing ‘I’ll take whatever team Connor picked.’  My system clearly isn’t working. I’ll take Edmonton; congrats Knighthawks fans”.

Ryan Connors – Edmonton Rush “Edmonton has won last 4-5, and Mark Matthews is on track to break the rookie goal record….I’ll go with the Rush“.

  • Washington Stealth @ Minnesota Swarm

Connor Wilson – Minnesota Swarm “This did not work well for me last time, but I like Minny, and think they take this one“.

Chris Rosenthall – Washington Stealth “The Swarm offense came around last weekend, but it was against Calgary, and they’ve been giving up a ton of goals to everybody. The Stealth D is a little tougher to beat“.

Ryan Connors – Washington Stealth “Washington is another team that is playing great lacrosse right now.  My boy Anthan Innucci is on a hot streak so I have to stick with the Stealth“.

  • Buffalo Bandits @ Colorado Mammoth

Connor Wilson – Colorado Mammoth “Casey Powell is another weapon on a shoot happy team. It can’t hurt“.

Chris Rosenthall – Colorado Mammoth “They doubled up the Bandits last week, and now they added Casey Powell, who should help Junior get closer to the goal instead of settling for so many outside shots“.

Ryan Connors – Buffalo Bandits “The only pick this week I really struggled with.  Colorado getting Casey Powell is insane when you think about it.  Now they can run Jones, Junior, Pollock, Prout and Powell on the floor all at once.  On paper is should work…but I have my doubts. I guess we will see“.

Correct Picks Running Tally:

Connor Wilson (20-25)
Chris Rosenthall (16-29)
Ryan Connors (18-27)
