HEADstrong: Lacrosse Mustache Madness Sets $170k Record

Although all of that glorious facial hair that was sprouted, groomed and grew out of control in one month’s time is now just a memory for most, but it wasn’t without reaping a great reward. This year, HEADstrong‘s Lacrosse Mustache Madness campaign raised a monumental $170,000 through the month of November for the fight against cancer!

More than 900 mustached participants raised funds from over 2,700 donors. Founder of Lax Stache Madness and Denver Outlaw, Ken Clausen announced that stache growers collected over $50,000 more than 2014’s total!

HEADstrong Texas went HUGE and raked in $18,107.15 as a group right ahead of last year’s champions, the University of Delaware who brought in $17,336.28.

A HUGE hats off to Program Director for HEADstrong Texas, Rich Moses, who kept the Stache King title by handing over $14,430.58 to LMM, a new individual fundraising record!

The Lax Stache Committee also honored Towson Men’s Lacrosse Coach Shawn Nadelen for the Stache of the Year award.

In 7 years, mustaches have raised more than $670,000 to support cancer patients and their families through the HEADstrong Foundation. The lacrosse community should be exceptionally proud of the effort to proudly rock the stache for a whole month in the name of raising funds to better the lives of those fighting back against the disease.
