Throwback Thursday – Bowling Green Lacrosse

Back in the day, the Bowling Green Falcons were a NCAA lacrosse team. Today BGSU is a club squad competing in the NCLL.

This video, a straight black and white short from ’69-’70, is a series of clips over two years of match ups against Kenyon College and Denison University (both are also in Ohio, but currently compete at the NCAA Division III level) as well as The Ohio State University. According to John Bowen’s video, the Falcons had a team from 1969 to 1975 and were one of the most successful programs with a win percentage over 75%.

After winning their conference last year and only graduating two seniors, vice president Stephen Miller is excited about this coming season, hoping to lead the team to their first national title. Numbers are so good this year that they have split the guys into two teams, A and B.

On October 19th the Falcons will host an alumni game after they take on conference rival Akron. They also hope to compete in other events in the Midwest this fall.

Check out their Facebook or website to follow the team this season.
