Yep that’s the club team, ironically the Japanese players on the national team weren’t too “pleased” about that uniform because of ignorant white players were kept asking them “why don’t you wear the sushi chef uniform as well?”

I don’t blame them….

He said leaping not flying lion… the later sounded like something from a bad martial arts movie. In any case the definition of rampant is “inrestrained in action, or performance” which could be definition of leaping as well.

believe the martial arts uniforms were not the national team uniforms… pretty sure they were a japanese club team playing in a concurrent tourney also in Manchester.

liking the dragon scales, but it’s kinda ignorant to say it was designed with heritage in mind.. you could also say they wanted a medieval theme as well, because dragons were prominent mythological symbol there too.
not gonna go and get butthurt over being political and stuff, but i agree i love the texture. i would’ve never noticed it unless you mentioned it; they could’ve made it more noticeable or make a dragon theme from the entire uniform

how come japan’s martial arts uniform wasn’t on these rankings? that was the only one that i really liked this year.

Yea, they were the sought after by little Irish American lax bro who want to pretend they play for the Irish team.. I happen to know they WEREN’T the most sought after piece of equipment. How about Team USA Wrath? Or the Canadian helmets? just to name a few…

While the Irish helmet maybe creative (Faded national flag formation, dual color mohawk) all looked good in an over all scheme of things… but only when you have time to take a closer look and appreciate it. A quick look on the field they looked very… well, generic. Just like half of the European team in the tournament (i.e. Sweden, France, blah blah).

Also this ranking is not only about the best looking helmet, but an OVERALL uniform combo. And quite frankly, the Irish doesn’t cut it with their combo… ironically their helmet became the weakest link when put to together with the rest of the uniform (oh, and don’t get me started on the gloves).

Those weren’t the welsh helmets this year. And not having Ireland on this list is a crime. Their Pro7′s were the most sought after piece of equipment in England.
