I think the Irish team for this ILF is made up of about 12 americans and 12 Irish nationals… they're getting there!

I think a good majority of the Irish National Team is from the states. I scrimmaged against some members trying out for the Irish team at the Merchant Marine Academy a few years back, traditionally they field a decent team.

In the “Irish” language, Gaelic is a noun usually used for sports and not language. Also, maybe misleading to say the Celts spoke Gaelic because Celts were all over Europe, including the continent itself and spoke a variety of derivations. Gaels spoke Gaelic or “Irish”, which is part of the subset of the Celtic family of languages.

I saw a couple games on TV when I lived in Australia and I had a couple thoughts: 1) why do Aussies care about an Irish sport? 2) why even have a goalie in hurling? I never saw even one save made. 3) I bet no one can speak Irish (otherwise known as Gaelic) when they're drunk because the dudes in this video seemed to struggle to speak it sober.

GREAT FIND! this was really cool to see and I hope the game keeps growing over there even if I make fun of their language a little… I'm just jealous. CRAIC!
