Con Bro Chill sucks. I've never liked the image he's giving lacrosse. Phenomenal player doing phenomenal things on the field, especially coming from an MCLA program, but not very respectable off the field and not doing great things for the image of the sport.

At the Oregon Chapman game in Orange this year, Chapman had some student DJ's that played the loudest worst Rave Music every chance they got. It was really annoying. When I complained, Con Bro Chill said I was an old fogey. Oh well!
In any case, I am with you on this one Connor.

the music piped into NBA games is corny. The music played NONSTOP at NLL games is absurd. It sounds more like a spinning class than a sporting event.

the PA announcers suck too.

I know your allegiance is more than skin deep, but still... guest DJs? Really?

Side note: we went to play Lasell (outside of Boston) and their mascot was the Lazer. And by the 3rd quarter, our coach was letting me (a soph defenseman) play man up. I even managed to score one somehow with a short stick. That was the awesome part.

The not so awesome part were the Lasell players wearing sweatbands (intended for the forehead) around their necks. We couldn't stop laughing. The DJ they had at the game was even better... he showed up mid 2nd quarter, stayed for 15 minutes, then left. Maybe I'm biased, and maybe it's just stupid.

I stopped going to Knighthawks games in college because of how cheesy it was. The lacrosse was awesome and seeing JGJ light up the cage made dealing with the crappy jock jams and awful announcer cheer attempts some what manageable. At the end of the day what keeps people coming back is the COLD BEER and fast paced lacrosse. All the other filler is not needed. The stupid half time stuff for the kids is fine I guess. It keeps them occupied when there isn't anything else for them to do so I understand the process behind it.

Lacrosse needs to be marketed like the NHL does it. A Fast paced, high scoring, hard hitting good time. Not how Jackie Moon promoted the Flint Michigan Mega bowl. "the trophy is 12 feet high...and it is glorious"

Solid article.

I used to be very resistant to the box game, but the more time that goes on, the more and more I enjoy it. These days, I watch a game every time its on, and search for online broadcasts occasionally as well.

That being said, the league may have significant more potential then Major League Lacrosse in my honest opinion. Its much quicker paced, more physical, already has a huge following in Canada, and features fights. Regardless of your opinion on that, fans love blood, why else do you think people watch NASCAR?

The announcer screaming for the duration of the game drives me insane. Flashbacks of Blast Lacrosse from Playstation occur regularly, and although I've never been to an NLL Game, the announcer must be 100x more annoying for live fans then it is for the television audience.

The league should invest its eggs into event atmosphere, but only in a positive way. Here in Madison, there is a summer collegiate team that plays in the Northwoods League. There is certainly higher quality baseball to be seen, but fans pack this place. The beer is cold, the brats are amazing, and anyone from age 4-400 can get involved. Plenty of action to participate in outside and around the stadium.

Cut the announcer, cut the music, and focus on things that people will actually enjoy.
