Ales Hrebesky Memorial Box Lacrosse Tournament: Day 2 Play

Day 2 of the Ales Hrebesky Memorial box lacrosse tournament is in the books!  The tourney action kicked off today, and some teams played up to 2 games.  Other teams were still rolling in, and some of these guys will have to play 3 games tomorrow, while everyone who played today will play one or two games.

The Salt Shakerz play the Turku Titans at 12:30 PM Prague Time.  If you want to watch online on the East Coast, you’ll have to tune in at 6:30 AM.  Our second game is against the home side, LCC Radotin, and will be played at 7:30 PM.  If you want to watch live online, tune in at 1:30 PM EST, and go here: net.TV

For a recap of Day 1, check out my Day 1 post.  Pretty simple.  Below you can find highlights from today’s action… which included two huge upsets as the Shakerz lost 6-5 to a vastly improved Bratislava Bats, and the Megamen out of Boston, a finalist last year, lost to the Novia Scotia Privateers.

Both Bratislava (ELL) and Novia Scotia (CLax) players knew each other, and their team chemistry was a huge difference maker in both games.  For the Shakerz, James Synowiez led the charge with 3 goals, and Eric Force and Brandon Styres were rock solid in net.  We just couldn’t put up enough goals to match Bratislava, and that was that.

Even though we lost, I had a smile on my face all day.  At the Ales Hrebesky you are surrounded by great people, and it’s impossible to be angered by a loss for long.  The community and cameraderie is top notch, and the whole town comes out for the games.  It’s really an event you just have to see in person!

Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow with more!  Til then, lax on, no matter where you are!
