Michigan Vs Penn State: Recap & Huge Hit

Penn State took down Michigan 11-6 up in Michigan’s Oosterbaan Field House on Saturday in front of a packed crowd.  TJ Sanders and Shane Sturgis each notched four goals for the Nittany Lions, and goalie Austin Kaut made 12 saves for the win. Penn State was only up 5-3 at the half, but used a 5 goals run in the third period to push that margin to 10-3. Michigan won the last period 3-1, but it wasn’t enough to come back on PSU.

Michigan tried to feed the crease a bit, and in this case (at the :45 second mark), they pay the price:

I bet Alex Collins would have hit that hard too.

Jack Forster had two goals and an assist for PSU, while Kyle Jackson did the same for Michigan. Tommy Paras and Will Meter both added a goal and an assist, and Gerald Logan had an impressive 19 saves in net for the Wolverines. Penn State was only 1 of 6 on extra man opportunities, while Michigan was more more effective, going 2 for 3.

Penn State dominated on face offs, 15-5, and picked up GBs at an impressive rate, outpacing Michigan 44-27 in that category.
