The Lax’s Weekly D2 Roundup

Last week was a bit of a snoozer thanks to Zombie Jesus day.  My trip to the ER, however, added a little excitement.

First lets start with the final score from last week’s Roundup game:

#18 Kennesaw State 6 @ #12 SCAD 9
I said if KSU won, they’d gain some respect. They lost. By 3 goals.

The last POTW, Erik Johnson, finished the weekend with 4 goals, 4 helpers. Not bad for one game.

Games of the Week:

No Player of the Week this week. Instead you’re getting 5 games of the week.
Bonus Game: Thursday, April 8

Charlotte @ #10 Elon
Charlotte wins, they likely go to the SELC tournament for the 4th straight year. They lose and they’re out.

Charlotte vs Elon - 2007 SELC Semi-Final

Friday, April 9

#13 Emory @ #18 Kennesaw State
Both are sitting at 3-1 in the SELC Central.  The winner gets a bid to the SELC tournament, and a likely at-large bid to Denver. The loser’s season is essentially over. Big game.

Last year's KSU- Emory matchup

Saturday, April 10 2 FOR 1 SPECIAL!

#17 UC Santa Cruz @ #21 Concordia
Former conference foes dueling in an out-of-conference matchup. #1 WCLL vs #2 SLC. I sense a shootout.

Charlotte at Coastal Carolina
This game only deserves GOTW honors if Charlotte beats Elon tonight. If that happens, then its a fight to see who gets the 2nd SELC tourney bid from the North division.

Coastal Carolina at the 2009 SELC Tournament

Sunday April 11 2 FOR 1 SPECIAL!

Coast Guard Academy at #22 Briarcliffe
Winner is in the driver’s seat for the regular season conference championship. They both still have a few games left on their schedule, but the winner has a target on their back.

#10 Elon at #23 Appalachian State
The result of this game determines who wins the SELC North and locks up a likely first round bye in the SELC tournament.  ASU is in the driver seat right now at 4-0. Elon is at 2-0, while Charlotte is 1-1.

Elon from 2 years ago? It's possible
