I would also be open to championship weekend moving later, into June, more like the College World Series. Lacrosse season starts in early February now. The first few weeks of games are plagued by winter weather and even cancellations. Lacrosse is not nearly at the point where fans will brave bad weather to come out to games (as they do for football). Attracting large crowds is a very important part of the growth process. Moving the start of the season back two or three weeks could help make that happen more consistently.

I totally agree with this article, and I'd like to tack on an additional thought - Lacrosse needs a day. Maybe its Friday nights. Maybe its Saturday. Maybe its Sunday. Lacrosse is a growing sport and needs a simple concept to help make sense of it for new fans. One day, once a week when the vast majority of games are played. No more of this random Tuesday when we aren't paying attention. One day. On a trip? Do it around those days, but make the big game ON that day. Boom.

While I agree that Memorial Day Weekend is an awesome 3 days of lacrosse, especially having been to it. I don't totally agree with keeping the D1 semi-finals and finals so close together. I think at least a few days in between would make for a better championship game. It is always so hot at these games, especially last year, the boys in the games have to be drained after they play their semi-final games. Now they only have one day to recover and game plan for a new team and go out the next day in just as hot weather and play another game. The play will not be up to par with what you see in the semi-final game. Look at last years game. It was obvious that both teams we physically beat down and tired by the end of that game. Compare that to the semi-final games where everyone was flying around and it was way more exciting and faced pace.
