My guess is that it won't help since a longer channel allows you to get more velocity on the ball. Then again, it also doesn't have much whip so you can string the shooters pretty tight and rip rope.
2) If this causes problems for someone when they're catching, they probably should stick to basic mesh stringing instructions. just my $.02
