Lettin’ It Rip With Brian Dougherty

Brian Dougherty Chestnut Hill College lacrosse
Bringing his passionate energy to the sidelines of Chestnut Hill College

Hey what’s up LAS Readers? Happy 2012! I have a great feeling about this year, and I’m especially excited to kick off my new “Lettin’ It Rip” interview series on LAS!

Each week I’ll be interviewing one current or former professional lacrosse player, asking them some quick hitter questions to better understand them as a person and lacrosse player. It is often these players that have driven, and continue to drive, the game of lacrosse to the next level. I hope you enjoy learning some fun facts that you might not have known about some of the greatest players to pick up a stick.

First up is my friend Brian “Doc” Dougherty

“How bad do you want to be good?” – Dan Dougherty

I like to shower right before I get dressed. I like the feeling of being clean before I go out on the field and get muddied up.

On your day off, you wake up and…?

Go back to sleep!

Why do you wear the # that you wear?

I used to wear #3, but when I got traded to Philly, the only guy older than me in the league was uncle Roy Colsey (who also wore #3) and he was already in Philly. So, I decided to switch it up and represent Dr. J and Ryan Howard and wear #6. Plus I was getting a lil’ fatter and I liked the way #6 wrapped around my belly!

#6 is one of the greatest to ever step between the pipes!!
