Box Lacrosse’s Next Europe Transplant: Dominik Pešek

I met Dominik Pešek in the town of Radotin, in the Czech Republic 30 minutes outside of Prague, last year during the Ales Hrebesky Memorial. He was playing for the home side, LCC Radotin, and I was playing for the Salt Shakerz. After playing against him in person, and then learning that he was only 19 years old, I knew he was destined for the next level, in some way. The fact that everyone I knew told me to check him out didn’t hurt either.

Pešek also played at the Hill Academy in Toronto, for a year, and he is emerging as one of the Czech Republic’s bright young stars in the field game as well. While it looked like he might try to play US college lacrosse for a while, it now looks like Pešek will be headed to Canada to play Junior A box lacrosse, with hopes of learning, improving, and eventually chasing a dream of playing at the professional level.

Pešek is slated to play in three games with the Victoria Shamrocks this upcoming season, and if he makes the adjustment, he could see more time as the season progresses.
