GMODT’s Music Monday Featuring Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt”

jayz.reasonable_doubt2After a request for some more hip-hop, I decided to go to a can’t-miss certifiable classic: Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt!” His debut album, released in 1996, secured H.O.V.’s place in the New York hip-hop scene and showcased not only his lyrical skills to a wider audience but also the exquisite production of New York-based producers Clark Kent and Ski.

Although it wasn’t the commercial smash that later albums would be, “Reasonable Doubt” remains to most hip-hop purists as Jay-Z’s best album, and it’s influence has dominated hip-hop for the rest of the decade and beyond.
