Traditional Thursday: The ‘S’ Flair Pocket

Call me Brian if you need to…

But I had a serious need to add some flair to my latest traditional pocket. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to do, but I wanted to add on another color of cross lace, and do something a little weird and wacky, for no other reason than to have fun. I ended up producing the first ever (as far as I know) ‘S’ Flair Pocket!

The ‘S’ is for the S shape that the orange cross lace resembles. The Flair comes from Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary:

Flair

noun \ˈfler\
: a natural ability to do something

: an unusual and appealing quality or style

The extra string is definitely unusual, and in my estimation it has a bizarrely appealing style to it.

I added on more cross lace shooting strings in grey, and overall the pocket has a lot of hold, and a little bit of whip. I’ll let you know how it responds to the break in process, but for now, doesn’t it just look pretty? Or ugly. The flair is all about the aesthetic!
