WINNER! – The 2014 LAS March Madness Bracket Challenge

WINNER WINNER

The University of Connecticut Huskies have won the 2013-14 NCAA DI Men’s National Championship in basketball over the Kentucky Wildcats, 60-54.

The game was close, but Shabazz Napier and crew held strong all game long, allowing the #8 seed to knock off a #7 seed for the National Title.

Of the 168 people who entered this year’s bracket competition, there could only be one winner, I came 150 something place, so it clearly wasn’t going to be an inside job.

This year, no one in our entire bracket chose UConn to win it all, so we had two guys tied for first heading in to Monday night’s game.

The winner was determined by points, leaving us with a knot at 800 points, then the tie was broken by the prediction of the final score.

FINAL FOUR IS HERE

This weekend the #1 seed Florida Gators are squaring off against the #7 Connecticut Huskies at 6:09 est on Saturday.

Following the first game, the #2 seed Wisconsin Badgers face the #8 Kentucky Wildcats at 8:49.

In our Bracket Challenge contest over on ESPN.com we had 168 users sign up for the LaxAllStars group.

Of those 168 users, un-shockingly no one had a flawless first or second round.

We do have two entires tied for 1st Place and two tied for 3rd Place.

NCAA bracket chalenge

kingcobra1212 and austinpatchanian are tied for the top spot, but neither has a national champion left, both selecting Michigan State to win it all.

JCollins1706 and kyledecker33 have 3rd Place knotted up, but JCollins1706 has Florida winning it all, which if it happens, would likely push him to the sole #1 spot. kyldecker33 also chose the Spartans, so his fate is limited.

Prize Payout

Grand Prize will still be a pair of 12″ Red Maverik Maybach Deuce Gloves!

We’ve also decided to hook up 2nd through 5th place with $25 Gift Cards to Lacrosse.com!

FACT: NCAA Division I men’s basketball is arguably the second best sport to watch on television behind lacrosse.

FACT: Many of the college basketball players you’ll see on TV would have made great lacrosse players had someone ever introduced them to the Creator’s Game.

FACT: Sometimes March Madness seedings make about as much sense as high school lacrosse rankings.

FACTJim Boeheim would make an outstanding women’s lacrosse coach.
